Free Verse is a boutique wine merchant founded by Masters of Wine Ross Wise and Geoffrey Moss to import highly anticipated wines for leading restaurants and retailers across British Columbia.

British Columbia’s international wine scene has been growing, but let’s be honest—it has a gap.

I’ll admit, Free Verse started as a bit of an experiment. What began as a personal exploration—tracking down the rare and exciting—soon evolved into something bigger. As we dug deeper, we realized that we weren’t alone and others were just as intrigued by these wines as we were. We realized that people wanted access to bottles that weren’t just good—they were special. Bottles that told a story and challenged the expectations of the finest expressions of their origin.

So, Ross and I set out to create a list of wines we personally connected with—wines that represented something fresh, dynamic, and reflective of the new wave of winemaking. Wines that change the conversation around what can be achieved on the international stage.
